Oh Happy Spring!

Remember those New Year's resolutions? Although made only a few months ago, it seems like they are a distant memory for most. Interestingly, 45% of Americans usually make them, but only 8% successfully achieve them.


If it seems like an odd time to bring up New Year's resolutions, I mention them because the Spring selling season that we all wait for and count on to bring us out of the winter funk is finally here! So if your resolutions were about getting your presentation, your office, and yourself ready for spring...it's time to execute your plan.


If, like the 92% mentioned above, you didn't quite achieve success, here are some quick tips to make the most of the next several months:


Your office: Take a few minutes and sit where your customer sits. If what you see is a professional looking space that is relaxing and organized, congratulations! If not, do some general spring cleaning, reorganize files, get rid of all the post-it notes stuck to the desk, phone, computer, etc., and find hiding places for purses, briefcases, and snacks.


Your presentation: Look in a mirror and present to yourself. If you look and sound knowledgeable and believable, and your 2016 goals have been set, great job! If you are boring your own reflection as you drone on about each product, take a class, read a book, or follow a blog. With the accessibility of on-line training there is no excuse for not updating your skills.


You: While you are looking in that mirror, ask yourself if your customer sees someone who projects confidence, professionalism, approachability, and interest. Dress the part, look the part, act the part. Get your rest...stay healthy...and sell, sell, sell!
